Haughton man arrested on drug, flight charge
A routine traffic stop north of Hosston this morning resulted in the arrest of a Haughton man on drug and flight from an officer charges.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Davidson said that at about 9:35 a.m. today he observed John L. Johnson, 53, of 318 South Cloverleaf Drive in Haughton, turning off U.S. 71 on to Hale School Road without using a turn signal. Davidson said Johnson started to flee when Davidson tried to stop him but then, after a brief pursuit, pulled over. During a routine pat search of Johnson, Davidson said he found about 23 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of about $2,300.
Davidson booked Johnson at the Caddo Correctional Center at about 11:15 a.m. today on charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and flight from an officer. No bond has been set.
