Rodessa youth, 14, killed on La. 1 north of Vivian
A 14-year-old Rodessa boy was killed Monday night when he stepped in front of a car on La. Highway 1 about three miles north of Vivian.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Sgt. Johnie Johnson said Micah Gordon Richardson, Jr., 14, of 995 Williams in Rodessa, was standing behind his grandmother’s car at about 9 p.m. Monday while two unidentified Texas men were changing a flat tire. Johnson said no one could explain why the boy stepped onto the roadway and into the path of a 1993 Lincoln Town Car. Johnson said no chargers were filed in the accident.
Emergency medical personnel from Caddo Fire District No. 8 treated the youth at the scene before the Life Net Helicopter from St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana airlifted him to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. Emergency Room personnel at Wadley Regional said the boy was dead on arrival at the medical center.
