Sheriff’s narcotics agents arrest three on warrants

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s narcotics agents arrested three North Caddo Parish men Thursday night who were wanted on warrants for a variety of charges.

At about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, a Sheriff’s narcotics agent spotted two of the men at a business in the 3200 block of North Market Street and called for backup. After other narcotics agents arrived, they arrested Vince Alexander, 28, of 17465 La. Highway 1 in Vivian, and Gerald Davenport, 24, of 403 Walnut in Oil City. While those arrests were being made, Alexander’s cousin, Ty Alexander, 28, of 117 Northside Drive in Vivian, arrived at the scene and was also arrested.

Vince Alexander was arrested on a warrant as a fugitive from the Vivian Police Department for no license plate and aggravated flight from an officer. The narcotics agents also charged him with two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines. The agents found about one gram of methamphetamines worth about $100 in his possession at the time of his arrest, as well as about $1,300 in cash. The agents also seized his 1994 Chevrolet Camero, believed to have been used in a mid-November incident that resulted in the arrest warrant being issued.

Davenport was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court in Caddo Parish. He was also in possession of a small amount of methamphetamines and was charged with possession of methamphetamines.

Ty Alexander was arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor traffic violations.

Agents booked all three at the Caddo Correctional Center at about 1 a.m. Friday. Bonds have not been set on Vince Alexander. The warrant on Davenport carried a bond of $254 and there is scheduled bond of $2,647 on the methamphetamines possession charge. The warrant for Ty Alexander carried a bond of $1,089. At 2 a.m. Friday, all three remained in the Caddo Correctional Center.
