Body found in Red River being investigated as a homicide
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies pulled a man’s body out of the Red River this afternoon and, because of the circumstances, are conducting a homicide investigation along with the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Duncan said a boater on the river spotted the body at about 12:15 p.m. today and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Duncan said members of the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team recovered the man’s body, which was floating along the west bank of the river about a quarter mile south of the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge.
Duncan said the Caddo Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to positively identify the man and determine the cause and manner of death. Meanwhile, Duncan said, Sheriff’s deputies are conducting a homicide investigation.
