Accounting

The Accounting Division serves as a hub for the entire Sheriff's Office, interfacing with every other area of the agency either through incoming or outgoing documents.

The staff continues to meet daily, week-ly, monthly and annual deadlines while consistently maintaining and managing the financial and payroll records of the Sheriff's Office. The division's professionalism and dedication produce a performance level that meets and often exceeds the standards of excellence required by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

The past year saw the division facilitate the design and implementation of a parking program for Sheriff's Office employees who work in the Courthouse. Anyone who works in or visits Downtown Shreveport can greatly appreciate this new employee benefit.

In the last quarter of the fiscal year, the Accounting Division prepared to go on-line with new, progressive software. Several employees have trained both on and off-site while building the necessary foundation for maximum efficiency. This dynamic financial software package will help the division's employees keep pace with the ever-growing demands of the entire Sheriff's Office.
