Detention Bureau Report

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau's new jail has been a valuable asset to all local law enforcement agencies. Bureau deputies have been accommodating municipal, parish, state and federal authorities in their efforts to combat crime since the opening of the Caddo Correctional Center (CCC).

The primary problem for law enforcement in Caddo Parish prior to opening the jail was available space to house prisoners once in custody. That now appears to be a problem of the past. With a 1,070-bed capacity, CCC has yet to refuse a prisoner for lack of space.

The new-generation facility has been the backbone of law enforcement in Caddo Parish by assisting deputies, officers and agents as they make routine arrests, execute warrants and conduct sweeps. Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the U.S. Marshal Service, the U.S. Border Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Immigration and Naturalization Service have also worked together to effectively and efficiently place perpetrators of crime in Caddo Parish behind bars.

Located in North Shreveport, CCC uses a balance of proactive inmate management concepts. Designed to successfully manage large numbers of inmates with a minimum of personnel, the Caddo Correctional Center is the largest jail in the Ark-La-Tex and the only "direct supervision" facility in the State of Louisiana.
