Purchasing

From A(mmunition) to Z(ucchini), Purchasing procures myriad items for Sheriff's Office use.

Ammunition is a long-standing Purchasing commodity, while zucchini joined the growing commodities list when the responsibility for purchasing food served at the Caddo Correctional Center moved to Purchasing from the Food Service Division.

Procurement of items used at the Caddo Correctional Center, as well as all purchases made from the Sheriff's General Fund, are now under one supervisor, a consolidation designed to dramatically im-prove purchasing efficiency, effectiveness and availability.

Over the past year, Purchasing managed major contract bid processes to buy powerful, customized computer software packages for Accounting, Tax, Personnel and Purchasing; miscellaneous medical supplies; pharmacy services, and commissary and inmate bank account systems.

Ammunition to Zucchini, Apples to Zephiran, Purchasing strives to find the best prices from the seemingly endless list of materials needed to keep a modern law enforcement agency functioning effectively and efficiently. A to Z and everything in between, if Sheriff's Office employees need it to do their jobs, Purchasing can usually find it.
