Traffic Fatalities (all transportation-related deaths)
  1. (Feb. 9 - 5:10 a.m.) Tom Ray Burks, 70, of Texarkana, TX. Died inside burning vehicle on U.S. 71, about a mile south of Ida. [0209-01]
  2. (May 19 - 7:25 p.m.) Doris Stephanie Bailey, 42, of Maumelle, Ark. Crossed southbound lane ran off road, and ran off into a ditch. DOA.[0519-01]
  3. (May 25 - 5:15 a.m.) William Lee Hamil, Jr., 18, of 6507 Barksdale. Alcohol related one-vehicle crash in the 10200 block of Ellerbe Road. Ejected from and then rolled over by a pick up truck.[0525-01]
  4. (June 12 - 11:10 a.m.) Evelyn A. Smith, 85, of 8034 Elaine Drive. Hit a truck carrying asphalt. Died from injuries on U.S. 171 at Keithville Lidge Road.[0612-01]
  5. (Aug. 14 4:00 a.m.) Dennis Alan Herring Jr. , 24 of 19808 U.S. 71 in Ida, pronounced dead at the scene when vehicle hit a tree. [0814-01]
  6. (Aug 21 1 ;20 a.m.) Michael John Lasseigne, 31, of 7000 Fern Avenue Shreveport LA, died at LSU Medical Center for a vehicle accident that happened driving southbound on La 1 at about 10:10 p.m., hit a railroad car [0821-01]
  7. ( Aug. 22. 4:15 a.m.) Aires Lavell Girtmon, 19, of 1018 Commerce, Bastrop, La. died in a three 18-wheelers crashed on U.S. 79 a mile South of Greenwood. [ 0822-01 ]
  8. ( Aug. 22, 4:15 a.m). Charles E. Robinson, Jr., 36, of 2308 Providence, Bastrop, La. died in a three 18-wheeler crash on U.S. 79 a mile South of Greenwood [ 0822-01 ]
  9. (Aug 22 6:00 a.m.) Jacob B. Summerville, 65, of 6259 La 1 North, died driving North bound on La 1, he struck the back of a flatbed tractor- trailer , he was pronounced dead on the scene. [0822-01]
  10. (Sep. 21 8:55 p.m.) Eric Ray Steinhauser, 53, of 202 E. Ratcliff, Headed southbound on La 169 near Mooringsport , died because of loss control of vehicle. [0921-01]
  11. (Dec. 15 1:06 a.m.) Stacy Lanette Owens, 21, Greenwood, single-vehicle accident on Jefferson-Paige Road north of Greenwood. [1215-01]
